Cannabis Call to Ligislators

Cannabis Call to Your Legislators As we get closer to the 2015 Legislative session it is important our representatives here from us concerning MMJ in Washington. If they don’t know we are out here, they will assume no one cares and scrap our patient based MMJ system in favor of a taxed based system where bringing in tax dollars is more important than patient needs. Here are a couple questions and talking points you can use to frame the conversation if the legislator opposes safe and affordable access for MMJ patients. “Hi my name is _______. I am calling from _______. Why do MMJ patients have to get their medicine in an unregulated environment? Don’t you take people suffering from debilitating conditions seriously? Why do other citizens of Washington get safe and affordable access to their medicine and MMJ patients don’t’? If I can grow my medicine myself, why can’t I? Why do you want to restrict my freedom? Why do you want to take away my access to my medicine? Don’t you think Veterans deserve safe and affordable access to their medicine? Veteran’s put their life on the line for our country, but you say they can’t grow a plant to help with their PTSD? Do you think fill in your condition is recreation?” It’s a good idea to rehearse a statement before calling. Always be polite. It is ok to be stern, but not rude. If they ask for your information, give them as much as you are comfortable with. None is ok. Personal stories of how MMJ helps you, or someone you know, are good too. Spread your calls around for the most impact. Post what you said, with their reaction, with the hash tag #cannabiscall Here is a link to find your representative. http://www.leg.wa.gov/House/Pages/MembersByDistrict.aspx
